You’ve done it.
You’ve actually done it.
I’m not sure how, and it will take many more viewings to isolate the specific reasons…but somehow, some way, you’ve created the worst movie ever made.

And I would like them back, please. I think that movie was a success if the goal was to make the viewer want to stab him/herself in the neck with a sewing needle.

I probably would have enjoyed it more if they hadn't tried so hard. Epic movie fail. |

Hell, even "Showgirls" looks Oscar-worthy next to it.
G -- TOTALLY watch it. Actually:
1) Open a bottle of wine
2) Drink it
3) Open another bottle and start the movie. >
Also, I tried to put formatting in my open letter (above) but DSN ate all my paragraphs. Can't edit it, either *shrug*

| nice Ned.
I have experience with DVDFab, it works quite well, although I am into VUSE, a torrent client, which allows you to Download from thePiratebay.org all the AVI files you will ever need. I have seen many of the movies in the theaters, from the comfort of my PS3 and home theater system. by the way, this message will self destruct in 10 seconds |

Jay, look at Jon's Log from 9/24/08... he has a link he setup for me called "DVDFab Platinum v5.0.9.0"... it should handle your needs with no problem... I use it to put movies on my blackberry but also does DVD to DVD and a host of other functions including avi. conversion... thank Jon-Boy and enjoy!! |

I use a program called ConvertXtoDVD, there may be others out there but this one worked to just directly burn some images I had. So far it's worked with every file type I've thrown at it. The demo will add a watermark (that also causes the encoding time to pretty much double). A lot of places try to sell it for $50 but this place had it for $35 if you want to register.

| I came across this TV show Legend of the Seeker. It is a loose representation of the "Sword of Truth" book series by Terry Goodkind. The director is the same as Xena: Warrior Princess I believe. As far as acting goes, it is 3/5, but if you want something to pass the time, I recommend it. The ABC affiliates in your local area WMUR at 12:05 Sundays. good stuff |

I can't believe I waited so long, lets just put it that way.

| I definitely felt like the production out shined the plot for sure, which I'd give a 10/10 on both.
Scanner Darkly is the next thing in my queue oddly enough! (haven't seen it yet). |
| | 7.5/10 | | Bernat's reply on Aug 21st 2008 9:56pm EDT |
| Visuals were stunning (it took 6 years to make!) and the voice work is top notch but I found the plot recycled beyond belief.
I preferred Linklater's take on Phillip K. Dick's "Scanner Darkly" but Renaissance is absolutely worth a watch. |

| The Dark Knight is shattering box office records and it's even threatening to topple the date-movie, sob-fest, goliath of TITANIC. Adam, Paula and I piled into the car on Sunday night headed into the wilds of the Upper Valley to get our own viewing of the bat himself. I'll only cover three aspects of the film and give my final rating - I've got lots to say but I'll keep it as brief as possible. |

| I think the reason I liked "Iron Man" slightly better than "Dark Knight" (still the 1st and 2nd best movies of the year) is because "Iron Man" was taut. Yes, "Dark Knight" was packed with good stuff, and usually more good stuff means a better movie...but in this particular case, the pacing of "Iron" worked better for me than the massively-epic scale of "Dark Knight."

Ned, I doubt your review will be as long as whatever it is you already posted here so stop screwing around on the computer and go see the movie in any halfway decent cinema; don't waste your money on IMAX.
I saw the new bat flick in IMAX and I would rather have seen it in a regular theater. In short, the fight scenes were too tough to follow on the massive 4:3 screen and at times there appeared blurry as a result.
Review: Loved it! Shower it with Oscars (do they really mean anything anymore?), pour champagne over Gotham, whatever. This movie kicks ass.
Oh, and for the record I have still yet to see Titanic :) |

I won't spoil anything for you with this review of one of the years most highly anticipated films but I couldn't help but feel utterly remiss if I didn't at least say something. So, here's the short version: This film is not what you expect. This film is precisely what you expect. If you're easily motion sick, bring a barf bag.
Longer version after the break. |

I don't even know where to start. Go see '300' right now. Remember Scarface and that fantastic Hard Death? Yeah, this is 2 hours of that. 2 hours of the best, most interesting, most entertaining action I've witnessed in years. I dreamt about it last night. I'm considering going back and seeing it again. I'm definitely buying the DVD. Adam called it 'gorgeous and brutal' and last night referred to it as 'pornographic in its violence' and I couldn't agree more. This film rocks in all ways. That's all I'm going to say; no discussion of cinematography or scoring or casting.
It doesn't need my f*cking help.
Final Rating: 10/10 |
| | Also in theaters... | | gbarr's reply on Mar 14th 2007 1:04am EDT |
I skipped 300 this weekend and instead saw Zodiac. FWIW I'm a big fan of CSI and Law and Order so in many ways this was a 150 minutes of that kind of thing. Don't mistake this as a dig on the movie - it was excellent. The cinematography was exceptional and it kept a pretty even pace throughout. Not a hardcore action film but that's not what I was there for.
G Rating: 9/10 |

Haven't heard to much about the film here except that Xerxes(Rodrigo Santoro, also in the 3rd season of Lost) is Brazilian, so they hype it up that way, we know nothing about the story line yet. But if Jon gives it 10/10 it must be worth thinking about watching when it gets here. :)
If you can find a brazilian film called "Bicho de Sete Cabeças"(i could only find the Canadian title " Brainstorm", not sure if its any differnt in the US) its worth seeing. |

After all, if you're a fan of the genre I know you probably oozed with anticipation upon seeing the trailers - especially what with their comparisons to LotR. Well, I can tell you one thing; trailers lie. More after the break.
