He wasn't a fantastic actor but he gave us one of the most memorable characters of our generation. He had a wonderful sense of mischevious guile to him that I just loved. He was 73. |

Even when I lived 4 blocks from The Green Monster for a year - I was a yankees fan. I dont mind the individual prejudices of each fan for each team. I do not believe that the Yankees are inherently better any given year because of their performance for the past 10. I root for the team that has displayed themselves over teir lifespan to be the best. Right or wrong, it plays into one of my core philosophies: If you can't be relatively guaranteed to win, dont play the damn game. :) |

I'm a Yankees fan b/c my father is a Yankees fan. His philosophy when he first started enjoying baseball (in a house with all RS fans) was that you root for the winners. Period. No team has been to or won more World Series' than the Yankees. That's a philosophy I can dig, so I have always been a Yankees fan - win or lose. To my way of thinking, rooting for the RS is like hoping Gary Coleman would win the election; a one in a million chance and even then - practically unrepeatable. But hey, if they win, great! All I have to say is, do it 21 more times and then your team can talk about being in the Yankees league.
