12/16 11:18am | sad news | Just got a call from my parents. Apparently Mike Tsai's little sister, Lauren, was killed in a car accident. At 26 she had degrees from Stanford and MIT. Absolutely tragic. |
03/04 10:52am | South America | I am just recovering from my recent illness brought on by my trip to South America. My Norwegian cousin just married a Colombian (they are going to have some exotic kids!). Jason: I have no idea how you managed to eat the food and drink the water down there! My whole family got sick! |
12/04 9:34am | futbol | Holy crap was anyone else watching MNF last night?! Wow. I think I turned off the tv and stormed off at least 3 times in the last 10 minutes of the 4th quarter. Apparently HHS alum Jeff Stys was at the game. I'll have to ask him how it felt to give up his allegiance to the Pats for the Ravens and then sit through a freezing night like that ;) |
08/22 9:24am | UV | Looks like I'll be in Hanover the weekend of Sept 15. If people want to hang out just drop me a line. Or call Casa de Oxman. Same phone number since I was in 1st grade...and now we even have an answering machine! |
05/29 8:29am | Movie | Dave, my buddy from college is involved in producing a documentary and he's trying to learn about the process of gaining investors, as well as locating attorneys who handle the type of contracts involved in investing in films. Please let me know if you can pass on any knowledge about either area. Thanks! |
05/21 9:45am | religion | One of my coworkers noted this website/religion was a response to the state of Kansas attempting to teach Creationism along side evolution.
The chart relating pirates to the environment is worth viewing. |
04/15 11:25am | MITCHELL | Mitchell lives in Manchvegas now. I spoke to him on the phone a few weeks ago. We were talking about putting together some kind of shindig in DC for July 4th once I get settled in here. |
12/11 1:50pm | vnews | For those of us who don't get the Valley News, could you post a link or some version of the article w/Adam? |
09/21 11:54pm | Home again | Just booked my flight. Finished the most exhausting (and successful) trial of my career and after almost a year, I'm finally coming back to the UV. I'll be in town Friday & Sat night, so townies represent! |
09/16 8:26am | travel | Slight chance I might be getting some time off from work next weekend and heading to good ol' Hanover. Drop me a line if you're in town. |
09/01 12:15pm | congrats | Blair, that's awesome! Great to see you kicking some ass. |
08/17 7:58pm | NH | 30%....Living in Florida for the past year and a half is destroying my NH cred. Dammit I miss the Northeast. Fall down here means it "dips" from 90's every day down low into the 80's. During the summer the thermometer in my car has read 106 and even 107. Not awesome. |
08/04 6:10pm | props | Nice job! In the words spoken by Sean Connery in a movie by one of your potential new peers: YOU'RE THE MAN NOW, DOG! |
07/05 9:21am | Dr D | Dave, I knew your mom taught at HHS but I didn't know your dad gave quotes for CNN...uh, I mean, neuroscience. Cool! |
05/21 8:57pm | lawr | Oddly enough, I refer to this insane group during my labor law trials. I can't explain why over this medium. Let's just say they have created a very powerful argument in favor of my clients and those of other attorneys who follow my advice. Suffice to say, if I get sent to Iraq and get killed, I do not want these maniacs at my funeral. |
01/18 5:47pm | foozeball | Ya kdawg I hear you. As a Pats fan this sucks. Guess I'll root for the Broncos so I can at least know the team that beat them was the number one team in the league. Ho hum... |
11/24 2:57pm | mr dave | Dave...you are the wind beneath my wings. Hilarious. |
11/22 10:22am | $$$ | Happy Birthday to Big Sean $...truly the most glorious day of the year to be born. (Granted it's also when JFK was killed...ok, and also Lincoln.) |
10/28 7:00pm | beer | If you have a decent connection, turn up the sound and enjoy: http://www.bigad.com.au/ |
08/16 9:50am | carz | Ok car people. The FL heat is melting me and I need to tint my car out of necessity, not wannabe pimpness. Is there a good website that explains the tint limits for each state. I need to be safe for FL, MA, and NH. I'm not looking for some crazy limo-tint, just enough to keep the sun out more. Thanks in advance! |
04/28 8:10am | numa | That is a funny friggin video! hahahah... |
11/07 1:32am | caveman | Thanks for all the kind words. Starting tomorrow I'll be cut off from the world for at least 3 weeks. First time I'll have to go without phone, internet, or anything (even snail mail) for that long since I was at Camp Cody for 4 weeks in 5th grade! |
09/14 6:56pm | Voting | I went and voted today at the Hanover primaries. As far as the state election goes, left-leaning Hanover won't make a huge dent in NH's Republican gov't. However, I voted late in the day and thanks to the automated vote-counter, I noted that there were only 932 votes. That means that in local politics every vote REALLY does count. Yeesh...I sound like an NBC the more you know ad; wear your seatbelt, don't forget to vote, eat your veggies...haha |
09/13 1:53am | Oliver Stone Shit... | Check out this freaky conspiracy theory...someone seems to think 9/11 has more to it than meets the eye: |
08/31 12:19pm | gmail | since i'm about to lose my bcls email account, i'd like to check out google's attempt at email. if you have any invites left, hook me up please. |
08/08 11:16pm | NYC Party Time | I'm definitely down for partying it up in NYC. I plan to be there this coming weekend. 2 things in advance: 1) I want nothing to do w/TK's ex-gf so if she's at TK's apt not even lesbian jello-wrestling strippers would get me near her & 2) Ned, I think I found your hat behind my couch so remind me to bring it with me. |
08/03 6:54pm | FINITO | I am FINALLY done w/one of the shittiest experiences of my life-studying for and taking the Bar Exam! Now I'm up for suggestions for awesome places to visit & parties to hit since I don't start work till November! Of course, if I failed the bar this is going to be the worst fall/winter ever for me...but I don't get my results till friggin November! WTF? It cost me $815 to take the damn test & they can't grade it in less than 3 MONTHS??? O well... |
07/16 11:12pm | legal system | Ned, as I sit each day (and night) studying for the Bar Exam & praying for a miracle, I can tell you that the majority of lawyers & judges-believe it or not-work their ASSES off and are not out to screw over society. Granted, I'm terribly biased here, but I've known & worked with lawyers for the past 3+ years and trust me, they don't even JOKE about breaking the law or violating ethical rules. Sure, it happens, but not as much as your Oliver Stone-esque rant indicates. Corruption exists everywhere. Our country maintains a massive inequity of wealth distribution where having money can buy you better representation in the legal system. Thank you Captain Obvious. If you don't like what you see, at a bare minimum, VOTE. |
07/10 11:50pm | oddly accurate... | During a much-needed study break I skeptically took that test...Needless to say the results speak for themselves (but I definitely DON'T wear jewelry):
You are an SECL--Sober Emotional Constructive Leader. This makes you a politician. You cut deals, you change minds, you make things happen. You would prefer to be liked than respected, but generally people react to you with both. You are very sensitive to criticism, since your entire business is making people happy.
At times your commitment to the happiness of other people can cut into the happiness of you and your loved ones. This is very demanding on those close to you, who may feel neglected. Slowly, you will learn to set your own agenda--including time to yourself.
You are gregarious, friendly, charming and charismatic. You like animals, sports, and beautiful cars. You wear understated gold jewelry and have secret bad habits, like chewing your fingers and fidgeting.
You are very difficult to dislike.

05/03 9:53am | Finalzzz | Criminal Procedure tomorrow morning. Trusts & Estates May 12th (4 hour exam) and a 25 page paper due tomorrow. All this will feel like a tropical vacation compared to the hell that will be the Bar Exam at the end of July. |
04/16 7:08pm | assault | If someone can convince a judge or jury that your actions put him in a reasonable fear of imminent harm, you risk assult charges. For example, pointing a gun at someone and telling them you are going to kill them may constitute assault. Generally, physically hurting someone is "battery", but many jurisdictions chose to use these terms "assault" & "battery" interchangeably, even though there is a need to differentiate. Hope this helps. |
04/12 10:31pm | wheels | Cool car pix. |
04/11 11:00am | RI for a bachelor party??? | a) Everyone wanted to see the pix. b) The shots of Petey w/the clubskank are what true love is really all about. c) Were there really enough pix of Ned flexing in his black wifebeater? Finally, d) No one is EVER ALLOWED to have another bachelor party in RI. Ever. (Unless it's Pete....) |
